day three, rosies, mushrooms, textured tiles, a mad collection of cups, teapots, bottles etc from that tea party!

A very busy day,
6B made Roses, 6A made cups, vases, teapots etc for the mad hatters tea party table,
2A made candles for a 125th Birthday Cake
and 2B made textured tiles in the shapes of diamonds, clubs, spades and hearts.

making petals for our roses and then gluing them on with slip.

very tricky and delicate work

then we painted them with underglaze colours

decorating a giant mushroom, thanks to 6B for assisting with this one.

6A making the cups, teapots, bottles, jugs etc for the mad hatters tea-party.

And thank you to 6A for doing the decoration on this giant mushroom and the yellow one shown further below. I am looking forward to seeing these in the mural.

2 A made candles for the 125th birthday cake.
They constructed pieces for the facial features and glued them on with slip, made the flame and then decorated their work with liquid underglazes.

below: cutting out the shape with a skewer and peeling off the excess clay.

Later when they dried a little, Debbie painted then all white and covered them with a thin wash of  underglaze colour which will show up all of the textured designs.

they look very professional!
They will go in the white background of the mural.
